Sislej Xhafa ist
bekannt für die künstlerische Erforschung von sozialen, wirtschaftlichen
und politischen Realitäten, die mit verschiedenen komplexen Ebenen der
heutigen Gesellschaft verbunden sind. Xhafas Arbeiten sind
minimalistisch, aber auch ironisch und subversiv. Er arbeitet in verschiedenen Medien;
Skulptur, Zeichnung, Performance und Fotografie. Der Betrachter wird
herausfgefordert, die Symptome und die Brüche der globalen Gesellschaft
zu erkennen.
Sislej Xhafa is known for his artistic
investigation into the social, economical and political realities
associated with the various complexities of modern society, such as
tourism and forced illegality. Xhafa’s works are minimal, as well as
ironic and subversive. He operates in various media, from sculpture and
drawing to performance and photography. His works aim to challenge
viewers to recognize the symptoms and cracks of contemporary global
society.
For his first solo exhibition in Austria, sadnesssurge, Sislej Xhafa developed three new works:
